When does a character work as a logo, and when does it not?
A character can make a brand more recognisable and give it a clear personality. Its effect depends on whether it follows the brand idea and works within a broader visual system.
Concept project, Visual identity
A self-initiated concept for Bergen Ølfestival where the beer glass becomes the festival character and carries the identity across logo, lettering and applications.

I present the project to explore when a character can make a festival identity more recognisable and add personality to the communication.
I developed the concept, logo, character, lettering, colours and applications.
The beer glass becomes a recurring character rather than a decorative illustration, giving the festival a recognisable character system.
The beer glass becomes both a character and a brand element. The same character can be used in the logo, merchandise, signage and festival material without losing consistency.
One simple idea, a beer glass as a character, can be used throughout the identity. This is a personal concept, not the festival's official identity.
